Rep. James Comer said that recently released documents related to Jeffrey Epstein have cleared President Trump of involvement in the case, while arguing that significant questions remain about Epstein’s network and potential co-conspirators.

Comer said interest in the Epstein case shifted when allegations surfaced about President Trump.
"Well, the Democrats didn't care about Epstein until someone had the notion that Donald Trump may have been involved."

He pointed to what he described as the volume of records that have been made public.
"And what we've seen from the millions of documents that have been released is that Donald Trump is completely exonerated in the whole Epstein saga."
Comer added that, despite that conclusion, there are still unresolved issues tied to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
"But what we've seen is a lot of honestly unfinished business with respect to Epstein and the crimes that he and Maxwell committed, any potential co conspirators and holding people accountable."

He referenced developments involving Prince Andrew in the United Kingdom, suggesting that the charges there were not limited to sexual misconduct.
"I'd like to note what Britain charged Prince Andrew on, what they arrested him on, didn't have anything to do with sexual crimes. It had to do with potential treason."
Comer said those circumstances have raised broader investigative questions.
"And that's one of the questions that we have in our investigation, is, how was Epstein able to surround himself with so many influential people like Prince Andrew and the Clinton family and others in Saudi princes and people all around the world, and was there any type of spy ring that was going on."

He described that possibility as a central issue that remains unresolved.
"That's a serious question that's never been answered, and hopefully we'll be able to get the truth."
WATCH:
Comer’s remarks focused on the scope of ongoing inquiries into Epstein’s activities, the individuals associated with him, and whether additional criminal conduct beyond previously known offenses may have taken place. He said further investigation is needed to determine the full extent of Epstein’s connections and any potential accountability for others involved.
