Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) delivered a sharp rebuke of members of his own party during Saturday’s broadcast of “Saturday in America” on the Fox News Channel, accusing some Democrats of aligning with “pro-Hamas” and antisemitic figures, as reported by Breitbart.

During the interview, Fetterman specifically criticized Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and referenced political commentator Hasan Piker by name.

“There’s a rot in my party, standing with pro-Hamas” and antisemitic people like Hasan Piker, Fetterman said, pointing to what he described as a growing anti-Israel faction within Democratic ranks.

He questioned Ocasio-Cortez’s public posture toward Israel.

“Why is she so eager to criticize and find a way to criticize Israel?” Fetterman asked. “But I don’t really recall them saying anything as Iran was executing thousands and thousands of their protesters for that.”

Fetterman rejected claims of genocide in Gaza and said Israel was engaged in a defensive conflict.

“Now, there was never any genocide in Gaza, absolutely,” he said. “And there shouldn’t ever be any conditions for aid for Israel, because they were in an existential war.”

He continued by linking that stance to broader criticism within his party.

“That’s part of the problem with the very anti-Israel part of my party,” Fetterman said. “So, call that what it is.”

He then directly addressed what he characterized as associations with controversial figures.

“Why [can’t you] just stand — and why would you align yourself [with] raging [antisemites] and very pro-Hamas people like Hasan Piker?” he asked.

Fetterman expanded his criticism beyond individual lawmakers, referencing media coverage as well.

“There’s a rot in my party, standing with pro-Hamas people like that, whether it’s even in The New York Times, they’re [fascinated] with him,” he said.

The Pennsylvania senator closed his remarks by reiterating his support for Israel and calling out what he sees as inconsistency in human rights advocacy.

“So, where we are — and call this is — and stand with Israel, that’s our special ally, and there was never a genocide,” Fetterman said.

“And when there is a genocide, where you’re executing tens of thousands of people in Iran, why not call that out too?”

Fetterman has frequently broken with progressive members of his party on issues related to Israel and the Middle East.

His latest comments mark one of his most direct criticisms yet of fellow Democrats over what he described as alignment with “pro-Hamas” voices.

The remarks aired Saturday and quickly drew attention as tensions over U.S. policy toward Israel continue to divide lawmakers in Washington.
