Local outlet Rough Draft Atlanta reported that an “active police matter” was unfolding in Mayfield Park in Milton, a city located roughly 30 miles north of downtown Atlanta.
Law enforcement activity in the area drew attention from nearby residents, though officials emphasized there was no danger to the public.
Police stressed that the situation does not pose a threat to the community and urged anyone who may have information about Smith’s location to contact authorities to help confirm his whereabouts.
An update on the case was later provided by a representative for Lil Jon in a statement to TMZ.
“The family is asking for privacy at this time. We are also asking for continued prayers for Nathan to come home safe. Thank you,” the representative said.
Smith, who performs under the name DJ Young Slade, has been working to build his own career in the music industry.
He has publicly spoken about following in the footsteps of his Grammy-winning father and often credits Lil Jon for instilling a strong work ethic.
In a 2024 interview, Lil Jon commented on his son’s professional path and said it was “cool” to see him working in the same industry.
Smith has appeared alongside his father at music-related events and has pursued DJ work and production projects of his own.
As of Tuesday morning, police had not released additional details about what led up to Smith leaving his home or the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
Authorities said the investigation remains active and that officers are continuing efforts to locate him.

The Milton Police Department reiterated its request for assistance from the public, asking anyone who may have seen Smith or has information relevant to the case to come forward.
Officials said timely tips could be critical in ensuring his safe return.
Law enforcement agencies often issue missing persons alerts in cases where an adult may be at risk due to medical, mental health, or other safety concerns.
In this case, police noted Smith’s lack of a phone and potential disorientation as factors contributing to the urgency of the search.
The family has not released further public statements beyond the request for privacy and prayers. Police said they will provide updates as new information becomes available.
