Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has endorsed Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of former President John F. Kennedy, in the Democratic primary for New York’s 12th Congressional District, as reported by Fox News.
Schlossberg announced Pelosi’s endorsement in a post on X, sharing part of her statement supporting his candidacy.
“This moment calls for leaders who understand the stakes and how to deliver for the people they serve. Jack Schlossberg is that kind of leader— a candidate for Congress we are all excited about, and someone I am proud to endorse,” Pelosi said in the statement.

She added, “Jack possesses a unique ability to navigate the digital and the classical political worlds in ways that can get things done for people — and hold President Trump accountable. Those skills are critical right now, and they are also quite rare.”

Schlossberg responded with praise for the longtime Democratic leader when posting her endorsement.
“Speaker Pelosi is a national hero and master legislator — I'm proud to have her support. She's the backbone of the Democratic Party — no one understands Congress like she does,” Schlossberg wrote on X.
“I sat down with her, told her about our campaign and policy plans for NY12. She believes we can win,” he added.

New York’s 12th Congressional District is currently represented by Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y. Nadler announced last year that he will not seek re-election, leaving the seat open in the upcoming race.

Pelosi also announced last year that she would not run for re-election, marking a transition for one of the most prominent figures in the Democratic Party. Her endorsement carries weight in Democratic primaries, particularly in high-profile races.
Schlossberg’s candidacy has drawn attention due to his family legacy as the grandson of President John F. Kennedy.
His campaign enters a crowded Democratic primary field that includes state Assemblymembers Micah Lasher and Alex Bores.
George Conway, the ex-husband of Kellyanne Conway, who served as senior counselor to the president during much of President Donald Trump’s first term, is also running in the primary.
The race for New York’s 12th District is expected to draw significant interest given the district’s prominence and its history of long-serving Democratic representation.
Pelosi’s endorsement positions Schlossberg as a candidate aligned with the party’s national leadership.
The Democratic primary will determine who advances to the general election in a district that has traditionally favored Democratic candidates.
With Nadler stepping aside and Pelosi exiting Congress at the end of her term, the contest represents a generational shift within the party’s ranks.
Schlossberg’s campaign has emphasized his policy plans for the district, which he discussed directly with Pelosi prior to receiving her endorsement.
His public remarks suggest confidence in the viability of his candidacy as the primary field continues to take shape.
