A long-running dispute over the release of a 2007 tape involving Kim Kardashian and Ray J has resurfaced in a new legal battle, with Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner denying accusations that they orchestrated its release and Ray J’s family pushing back on those claims, as reported by Page Six.
Court filings submitted Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court include declarations from Kardashian and Jenner rejecting allegations made by Ray J that the tape’s commercial release was coordinated by members of the Kardashian family.
The filings are part of a broader legal dispute between the parties that has escalated over the past year.

Kris Jenner addressed the accusations directly in her declaration, stating that claims she played a role in producing or distributing the tape are untrue.

“As a mother, the notion that I orchestrated or produced sex tapes involving my daughter, or was in any way involved in the creation or distribution of any sex tapes, is not only entirely untrue but deeply offensive and harmful and has haunted me for decades,” Jenner said in the filing obtained by Page Six.
She also described her reaction when the tape became public.
“I was absolutely heartbroken, crushed and devastated as a mother to see my daughter in this situation where her most intimate and private moments were exposed to the world,” Jenner said.
The legal dispute stems from claims made by Ray J, who has publicly alleged that Kardashian and Jenner were responsible for the tape’s release. Ray J first raised those allegations publicly in 2022.

Ray J, 45, later filed a lawsuit in November 2025 claiming Kardashian and Jenner were involved in the tape’s distribution.
That lawsuit followed a separate legal action filed in October 2025 by Kardashian, 45, and Jenner, 70, who sued Ray J over racketeering claims related to the controversy.
Jenner’s declaration also addressed the impact she said the dispute has had on her daughter.
“My family is of the utmost importance to me,” Jenner wrote in the filing.
“It is deeply painful to watch my daughter experience the stress brought upon her by [Ray J], and her feelings of hopelessness and [that] his harassment will never end.”
While Kardashian and Jenner have denied the accusations in court filings, Ray J’s family has publicly supported his position.
Ray J’s mother, Sonja Norwood, defended her son in a Facebook post Wednesday, stating that she believes the truth about the situation will eventually be revealed.
“I am no longer going to sit back and watch my son be ‘dogged’ on social media over this matter when Ray J and I, Kris and Kim, and many others know the truth,” Norwood wrote.
Norwood also directed a question toward Jenner in the same post.
“And Kris, momager, you say you did not orchestrate the commercial release of the tape. Then who did?” she wrote.
She added that she intends to support her son as the legal battle continues.
“I support Ray J and his journey to bring the truth forward,” Norwood said. “I have witnessed this journey for many years, and however long it takes, whether it becomes a long journey or a difficult battle, we will stay on that path until the voices that have distorted the truth are publicly revealed.”
Norwood concluded her post by writing: “And if that truth journey must continue all the way to the doorstep of God’s judgment, then so be it.”
Representatives for Kardashian, Jenner and Ray J did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Page Six regarding the latest court filings.
The dispute continues to move through the court system as both sides maintain opposing claims about how the tape was released and who may have been responsible.
