Businessman Rom Reddy announced his candidacy for governor of South Carolina, unveiling an immediate seven-figure statewide advertising campaign as part of his entry into the race.
Reddy, the founder of DOGESC and a seven-figure donor to President Donald Trump, said his campaign will operate differently from traditional efforts.
He confirmed that he will not accept campaign donations or seek endorsements during the upcoming primary contest.
“This campaign is between me and the voters,” Reddy said, describing his approach as focused directly on voters rather than outside influence.

The campaign is launching with a two-week, seven-figure advertising buy across the state, marking an early push to introduce his candidacy to voters.
Reddy said his decision to forgo donations and endorsements reflects his view of how campaigns should operate.
“Self-governance is making your case to the citizen directly and not clouding the issue with special interest money and endorsements,” he said.
In explaining his decision to enter the race, Reddy outlined concerns about the direction of state government.

He said, “I have always believed the role of government is to protect and defend our God-given rights.”
He added, “Instead, government has taken this power and weaponized it against the citizen.”
Reddy cited several issues he believes reflect broader problems in the state, stating, “We have the highest income tax rate of any red state, property taxes that are a life sentence, and government spending that has doubled in the last decade.”
He continued, “However, we are at the bottom in education, roads, median family income, and health care, and at the top in crime and the growth of the agency state. In other words, we are a red state run like a blue state. This has to stop.”

Reddy is a graduate of the Wharton Business School and said his professional background is rooted in the private sector.
According to his campaign, he has spent his career starting or turning around businesses, with a focus on American manufacturing.
He plans to spend the coming months traveling throughout South Carolina, meeting with residents and discussing his campaign priorities directly with voters.
Reddy contrasted his campaign with those of other candidates in the race, stating, “There are two lanes in this race.”
He added, “In one lane are all the other candidates with over 50 years in government who take money from PAC’s, corporations and special interests but claim they have your back.”
He continued, “In the other lane is me, a successful private sector guy who has rejected special interest money and will be a voice for the voiceless.”
The race for governor is expected to draw multiple candidates, with Reddy entering later than some of his opponents.
His campaign’s early focus on self-funding and direct voter outreach sets his candidacy apart as he begins statewide efforts to build support.
