Despite the health scare, Momsen indicated she planned to continue performing, telling fans she expected to return to the stage following treatment.

The incident adds to a series of unusual onstage and touring-related events Momsen has experienced in recent years. During a 2024 concert in Spain, she was bitten by a bat while performing.

“There’s a f---ing flying bat on my leg right now,” Momsen said during the show, according to E! News. “Can someone help me please?”

After the animal was removed, she addressed the crowd again.

“Gracias! It’s all right. And the bat’s fine. He’s gonna be my new friend.”

Momsen later confirmed the bat had bitten her, requiring medical treatment.

“He was cute, but yes, he bit me,” she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. “so rabies shots for the next two weeks.”

“Thanks to all the staff at the hospital who dubbed me #batgirl after seeing it on the local news that morning,” she added. “That’s one for the books!!!!”

Momsen initially gained recognition as a child actress, appearing as Cindy Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas. She later became known for her role on the television series Gossip Girl before shifting her focus to music.

As lead singer of The Pretty Reckless, she has released multiple albums, including Going to Hell and Death by Rock and Roll, and the band has achieved several No. 1 hits.

Her recent hospitalization occurred as the band continues its tour alongside AC/DC. No additional details about her current condition have been released.
