Ruby Rose has filed a formal police report tied to allegations involving pop star Katy Perry, stating that the move now prevents her from discussing the matter publicly as authorities investigate the claims, as reported by The New York Post.

According to statements shared on social media, Rose said she has completed all required reporting related to the case and is now restricted from commenting further.

The actress said the development marks a shift in how she can address the situation moving forward.

“As of this afternoon, I have finalized all of my reports,” Rose wrote on Threads. “This means I am no longer able to comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases, or the individuals involved.”

Victoria Police confirmed that an investigation is underway into what they described as a historical sexual assault. Authorities said the alleged incident took place in Melbourne, Australia.

“Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives are investigating a historical sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010,” Acting Sergeant Paul Hogan of Victoria Police said.

“Police have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne’s Central Business District.”

Rose has publicly claimed that the alleged incident occurred nearly 20 years ago at the Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne. The actress, now 40, said she previously avoided discussing the situation publicly in detail.

In a Threads post responding to a Katy Perry clip tied to Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance, Rose wrote: “Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s— what she thinks.”

When asked for additional details, Rose described the alleged incident and said she initially reframed it as humor at the time.

“After it I threw up on her. I told the story publicly but changed it to be a ‘funny little drunk story’ because I didn’t know how else to handle it.”

Rose also claimed there were professional considerations that contributed to her decision to remain silent at the time.

“Later she agreed to help me get my US visa. So I kept it a secret. But I DID tell yall she wasn’t a good person. Instead I got attacked by… everyone.”

She further stated that completing the report has brought a degree of relief despite the public attention surrounding the case.

“It’s going to look like I am ignoring everything from supportive messages to other people’s experiences, but I’m not,” she wrote. “This is a standard request from the police and in many ways, quite the relief.”

Rose added, “I can start the healing process now. And temporarily move forward. I love you all so much.”

A representative for Perry denied the allegations, issuing a statement rejecting the claims circulating online.

“The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies,” the statement read. “Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”

Rose also addressed the timing of her claims, pointing to the length of time that has passed since the alleged incident.

“When the alleged incident happened, ‘I was only in my early 20s. I’m now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly,’” she wrote.

“Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me.”

She also said she is not attempting to avoid legal scrutiny and would welcome legal action.

“[Katy] is more than welcome to sue me (she won’t, because it happened, I have photos and it was literally in public and witnessed by multiple people). Plus, there is so much more that happened in the years leading up to her silly song she won’t want me discussing. The psychological manipulation was strong with that one,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Perry appeared to post a response on Instagram Stories, sharing a clip of her song “By the Grace of God” along with the message, “I love you.”

The development comes as questions surrounding Perry’s past behavior continue to circulate online, including a resurfaced 2014 interview in which Anna Kendrick described a similar incident during an appearance on Conan O’Brien’s show.
