California billionaire Tom Steyer just proved that the far left’s obsession with “inclusion” has reached new heights of absurdity.

The former presidential candidate and current Democrat contender for governor said he supports allowing biological males to compete in girls’ high school sports.

His justification? He actually claimed that these male athletes are “under threat of death.”

During a recent appearance, Steyer made it crystal clear where he stands on the issue of transgender participation in sports, telling voters that “there are more important things than whether you start on your high school basketball team, and that is standing up for people who are under threat of death.”

That line pretty much says everything about the priorities of California’s liberal elite.

To Steyer, biological girls losing opportunities is a minor inconvenience compared to his desire to virtue-signal his loyalty to gender ideology.

This comes as California’s sports policies have already been deeply controversial.

The state has allowed trans-identifying males to compete in girls’ athletics for years, disregarding the fairness and safety concerns expressed by female athletes and parents.

Now Steyer wants to double down on that policy, positioning himself squarely on the side of woke activists who claim exclusion from girls’ sports is “violence.”

Steyer’s remarks are a clear signal to the radical base of his party, which is increasingly dictating Democrat policy.

Instead of focusing on California’s sky-high taxes, failing public schools, and spiraling crime rates, Steyer is rallying around identity politics and trendy causes championed by progressive activists on social media.

He seems far more interested in applause from left-wing Twitter than from struggling Californians who want real leadership.

Critics of Steyer’s position have been quick to point out that actual female athletes are the ones facing discrimination under current policies.

Many young women have lost scholarships, records, and opportunities because they have to compete against biologically male competitors with natural physical advantages.

Yet when confronted with that fact, liberal politicians like Steyer resort to emotional appeals rather than confronting the reality of what they are endorsing.

Steyer’s framing of the issue as a matter of “life and death” is not just misleading; it is manipulative.

No one is suggesting violence toward anyone, but Democrats keep using fear-based language to silence dissent and brand anyone who questions their agenda as hateful or dangerous.

It is an effort to shut down debate rather than engage on the substance.

While Steyer claims to champion compassion and equality, his policies would actually erode fairness in sports.

Parents across the state who are trying to protect their daughters’ rights to safe and fair athletic competition are being painted as bigots by politicians like him.

It’s a tactic that has become all too common for progressives who equate disagreement with moral failing.

Steyer’s bid for governor is already shaping up as a battle between California’s far-left establishment and anyone still clinging to common sense.

He has poured millions of his own fortune into various liberal causes over the years, from climate change activism to efforts to impeach Donald Trump.

Now he appears ready to spend heavily on importing that same brand of ideological purity into the governor’s office.

If his latest comments are any indication, a Tom Steyer governorship would mean even more pandering to fringe activists while ordinary citizens continue fleeing the state in record numbers.

California is already struggling under the weight of progressivist experiments in taxation, regulation, and cultural engineering.

Steyer’s embrace of this latest left-wing crusade shows that he is not interested in reversing course.

Republicans and parents' rights groups are already mobilizing to fight back.

They argue that Steyer’s position exposes a deep moral rot within the Democratic Party.

To them, this is not about denying anyone’s identity; it is about preserving fairness, protecting women, and standing against biological denial dressed up as compassion.

Steyer’s statement might earn him applause from activists and mainstream media outlets, but it also highlights how detached the Democrat donor class is from everyday reality.

California’s problems are real. Its schools are failing. Its cities are suffocating under homelessness and crime.

But somehow, billionaire Tom Steyer thinks the most pressing issue worth his attention is making sure males can compete in girls’ sports without hurt feelings.

His message sums up the left’s agenda perfectly: ideology first, facts later.

If Steyer’s campaign continues down this path, he may find that even in deep blue California, there are still plenty of voters who have had enough of politicians who cannot tell the difference between fairness and fantasy.
