An Oregon father became a living example of grit and heroism after he was shot in the head while pulling out of an In N Out drive thru with his wife and two small children.

Despite his injury, he managed to drive his family away from the chaos to safety before taking himself to the hospital.

Police now have two suspects in custody for the February 9 shooting in Keizer. Officers arrested 20 year old Ethan Adrian Armenta Lagunas and 18 year old Gabriel Alex Javier of Salem on Wednesday.

Both face a slew of serious charges including first degree assault, unlawful weapon use, criminal mischief, and reckless endangerment.

The victim, 28-year-old Marcio Garcia, was hit in the head as bullets tore through his car, leaving shattered windows and a terrified family.

According to police, Garcia’s quick thinking and calm under pressure prevented what could have been a devastating loss of life. His wife and two children, ages two and seven, miraculously escaped without injury.

Even amid his own severe injury, Garcia’s instincts were pure fatherly protection.

His wife later described the moment in their online fundraiser, writing, “In the middle of chaos and fear, while he was injured and in pain, he somehow found the strength to drive us out of the scene to safety. He protected our family before thinking of himself. That is the kind of man and father he is.”

Investigators located multiple firearms at Armenta Lagunas’ apartment during the arrest. Authorities then apprehended Javier later the same day.

Yet another suspect, 22 year old Anthony Taylor Manriquez, remains on the loose and is considered armed and dangerous according to police.

The Keizer Police Department released photos of the remaining suspect, urging the public to stay alert.

The search continues as the community rallies behind the Garcia family, who are now focusing on recovery after the terrifying ordeal.

Photos shared online show the bullet that surgeons removed from Garcia’s head after an intense operation in February.

His wife stated that he avoided major brain damage and is recuperating at home with the support of loved ones.

She said, “The doctors told us what we already believe, this is nothing short of a miracle. Now he faces a long road of rest, healing, and recovery.”

Those words capture the incredible resilience that this family has shown.

In an age when good men are often overlooked by the media, Garcia’s courage stands out as the very definition of selfless love.

He acted when seconds counted, shielded his family, and outlasted evil by pure willpower.

Meanwhile, Oregon’s lenient progressive policies on law and order keep drawing scrutiny from those who say the system is too soft.

Violent criminals too often roam free, emboldened by weak enforcement and ideological prosecutors who value the rights of offenders more than the safety of law abiding citizens.

The shocking attack outside a family fast food restaurant is yet another reminder of the real world consequences of letting crime run unchecked.

That reality has many families asking what happened to the days when law and order truly mattered.

The question becomes even more sharp as police still hunt for a suspect described as armed and dangerous.

Community members have rallied in prayer and support for Garcia, donating to help cover medical bills while he recovers.

Families across Oregon have spoken out, saying Garcia’s bravery represents what is best about American parents who put their loved ones first no matter the cost.

For now, this young father’s recovery remains a story of incredible human spirit in the face of senseless violence.

Whatever led to that outbreak of gunfire at a burger joint, one fact is clear.

Evil failed that night, and a dad’s determination triumphed where fear wanted to win.

Garcia’s wife calls it a miracle, but it is also proof that courage still lives strong in ordinary Americans who refuse to give up even when blood and glass surround them.

That is the kind of strength no criminal can ever destroy.
