The NFL announced Friday that it will release its full regular-season schedule on Thursday.

In keeping with recent years, the release will occur during the second week of May.

The league has already confirmed one of the season’s headline matchups for its international slate. The San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams are scheduled to play in Melbourne, Australia, during Week 1.

That game will be broadcast in primetime in the United States at 8:35 p.m. ET on Sept. 10. Given the time difference, it will start at 10:35 a.m. local time the following day in Australia. Melbourne sits 14 hours ahead of New York and 17 hours ahead of both Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Another international game featuring the Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys is set for Week 3 on Sept. 27 in Rio de Janeiro.

In addition to those two, seven more international matchups will be revealed Wednesday at 9 a.m. ET on "Good Morning Football" on NFL Network.

Certain details for other major games are expected to surface throughout the week. Networks often reveal one of their key matchups during presentations to advertisers known as up-fronts.

The Seattle Seahawks will open their defense of the Super Bowl title in the regular-season kickoff game on Sept. 9. The opponent has not yet been disclosed.

An immediate Super Bowl LX rematch is one possibility, since New England is scheduled to face Seattle. Last year’s Super Bowl LIX rematch between Philadelphia and Kansas City was played in Week 2.

Other potential opponents for the Seahawks could include Chicago, Kansas City, Dallas, or the Los Angeles Chargers.

The complete schedule, covering all weeks and matchups, will be available following Thursday’s league announcement.

Additional programming around the schedule unveiling is expected to continue on the NFL’s media platforms throughout the week.

Until the full release, fans will rely on incremental reveals of marquee games as networks and the league share details.
