Rosie O’Donnell has returned once more to the United States despite her repeated vows never to set foot in the country again.

The comedienne previously relocated with her family to Ireland following the reelection of President Donald Trump in 2024, claiming at the time that she was leaving for good, as reported by Breitbart.

She had long declared that America no longer aligned with her left-wing ideals and had often threatened to move overseas. Her move became official in early 2025 when she quietly departed for Ireland and insisted that she would “never look back.”

That promise, however, has not lasted. O’Donnell revealed to her fans on TikTok this week that she is back in New York City and plans to remain for the entire summer.

According to O’Donnell, she will perform a show in July in New York, a detail she announced publicly while attending the Tony Awards.

On the red carpet Sunday night, O’Donnell used her appearance to attack President Trump once again. Despite declaring that she no longer likes the United States, she continues to use its stages and platforms to promote her work.

Critics have noted the contradiction, arguing that while O’Donnell rejects American life, she seems to have no problem benefiting from its opportunities and income.

The comedian herself has said she does not regret leaving a “scary” country, yet this trip is far from her first return. She previously visited in January of this year, explaining that she wanted to “see if it was safe” for her with Trump back in office.

A few months later, she came back again in April. During that visit, O’Donnell admitted to her fans that she stayed in the U.S. for two weeks before returning to Ireland.

Now she is back once more, this time saying she will remain at least two months while preparing her summer show. Her repeated returns have led observers to question how long her self-declared exile will last.

The pattern suggests that her earlier proclamation of “never” reentering the country has become increasingly flexible, as pointed out by critics who view her stance as inconsistent.

O’Donnell’s long-standing obsession with Donald Trump continues to draw attention.

In past comments, she acknowledged that even her therapist has warned her about her unhealthy fixation on the president, which she herself described as “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

According to O’Donnell, she has difficulty going more than two hours without expressing anger about him.

That obsession surfaced again just last month when she publicly fantasized about the president’s death, adding yet another controversial moment to her ongoing dispute with Trump.

Whether or not her newest return signals a permanent change remains unknown, but her actions have once again placed her political sentiments in the spotlight as she prepares to perform in the same country she once swore off.
