Taylor Swift made a playful and nostalgic statement at the “Toy Story 5” premiere on Tuesday, where she brought along a prized possession from her childhood — a VHS copy of the original 1995 film. The singer got Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, the voices behind Woody and Buzz Lightyear, to autograph the tape, as reported by Page Six.

Photos obtained by Page Six captured the moment Swift approached Hanks, 69, and Allen, 72, smiling as they signed the well-preserved cassette. Allen reportedly added Buzz’s iconic phrase, “To infinity and beyond,” next to his name.

In an interview with USA Today, Hanks joked that Swift should have brought along a VHS player to make the memento even more impressive.

“She should have brought in the VHS machine so that we could have signed it as that could go into the Smithsonian Institute as well,” he said.

Swift turned heads on the red carpet in an off-the-shoulder, crystal-embellished gown designed by Erdem.

The singer, who was only five when the first “Toy Story” hit theaters, attended the premiere as part of her involvement in the latest installment’s soundtrack.

Now 36, Swift wrote and produced the country single “I Knew It, I Knew You,” featured on the film’s soundtrack. The track has already become a standout in her latest creative chapter.

In an Instagram post, Swift described the project as artistically fulfilling and personal. “Writing the song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time,” she shared.

She revealed that the song was inspired by “Toy Story” favorite Jessie, calling the process both a challenge and a natural fit. “Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once,” Swift wrote.

Reflecting on her lifelong connection to Pixar’s animated universe, she added, “Being a @toystory kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond.” Her post was accompanied by a playful video of herself dressed as a cowgirl.

Swift said that the song was crafted with “so much adoration” for the “Toy Story” characters who shaped the imagination of her generation.

“We wrote this with so much adoration for these characters that made us laugh and helped us learn lessons and think outside the backyard all throughout our childhoods,” she wrote.

Following the song’s release on June 5, Apple Music announced that “I Knew It, I Knew You” quickly became the platform’s “biggest country single of 2026.”

The song also broke the streaming service’s “all-time record for the biggest soundtrack single, based on first-day plays,” solidifying Swift’s ongoing influence in both music and film soundtracks.

Between her touching throwback moment on the red carpet and another record-setting single, Swift’s night at the “Toy Story 5” premiere turned into a nostalgic celebration of creativity, music, and meaningful memories that span decades.
