Arnold Schwarzenegger is celebrating his 79th birthday with a workout-driven birthday moment, as he flaunted his famously muscular physique in new celebratory photos. The Terminator star was pictured pumping iron Thursday in what appeared to be Los Angeles, as reported by Page Six.

In both birthday snapshots, Schwarzenegger wore a black T-shirt with matching shorts. He finished the gym look with a gold watch and sunglasses while putting his massive arms on display for followers.

The Predator star also used the caption to spotlight Pump Club, his fitness community app. The app offers customized nutrition tracking, workout routines, and more.

“I turn 79 today. I don’t want any gifts,” he wrote in part. “Instead, my team and I are turning the fitness industry upside down.”

Fans quickly filled the comments with praise for the former governor of California. Many focused on his ripped physique as he continues to train while nearing 80.

“Happy birthday, 50 years ago you were training with one of the best physiques ever, and 50 years later today you are still training with one of the best physiques ever for your age!” one person remarked.

Another fan kept the message short and celebratory, writing, “HBD legend! ” The reaction matched the upbeat tone of the post, with admirers treating the birthday photos as another show of Schwarzenegger staying in fighting shape.

A third chimed in, “Health, happiness and best of life to you You’ve inspired an entire generation and still continue to,” while a fourth wrote, “Thanks for inspiring me all those years ago to follow my dream! ✨ ”

The birthday post arrived after Schwarzenegger once again drew attention for defying age last month. He stepped out with his much younger girlfriend, Heather Milligan.

Schwarzenegger, whose 28-year-old son, Joseph Baena, is following in his famous dad’s footsteps with a bodybuilding career, appeared with Milligan in a rare public outing. The couple began dating 14 years ago.

They were seen at the Austrian World Summit in Vienna, Austria, in June. The outing placed the True Lies actor and Milligan, 51, alongside other notable figures at the event.

In one photo from the summit, Milligan and Schwarzenegger were joined by former US Vice President Kamala Harris. President Alexander Van der Bellen of Austria was also pictured with them.

The Kindergarten Cop actor’s latest birthday upload follows decades of fitness accomplishments. It also shows how closely his public image remains tied to training, bodybuilding and the gym.

Even so, Schwarzenegger has previously spoken with unusual bluntness about aging and body image. In a 2023 interview, the seven-time Mr. Olympia winner admitted he struggled with changes to his body, even while being more fit than the “majority” of people his age.

“I kind of smile because every day I do look in a mirror and I say, ‘Yep, you suck,’” he told Howard Stern at the time.

“When you’ve been hailed for years as this supreme body, and you have the definition, and you see the veins coming down your abs, and you see veins on top of your chest and then … you roll the clock 50 years, and you’re standing there, and you don’t see that anymore,” he lamented.

He added, “I never, ever thought about that when I was 30 years old or 40 years old that this [was] going to happen. It just sucks.”

For this birthday, however, the focus was firmly on Schwarzenegger still showing up in the gym. Between the iron-pumping photos, the Pump Club mention and the wave of fan praise, his 79th birthday became another display of the fitness image that has followed him for decades.
