Brooke Shields is looking back on an adventurous summer getaway to Croatia, sharing photos and video from a trip with longtime friends that included actress and comedian Chelsea Handler, as reported by Fox News.
Shields, 61, described the vacation as the “highlight of the summer” in an Instagram post featuring scenes from the trip, including time spent by waterfalls, on the water, and exploring the streets of Croatia.
The actress and model opened her Instagram carousel with a photo of herself sitting beside a rushing waterfall. Shields wore a black strapless one-piece swimsuit and gold jewelry as she sat on a moss-covered rock near the water.
“Highlight of the summer: the most amazing trip to Croatia with the best people ️,” Shields captioned the post.

Another photo showed Shields relaxing on a wooden swim platform attached to a boat alongside Handler and another friend.
Shields wore the same black swimsuit, while Handler, 51, wore a turquoise swimsuit. A third woman was pictured in the water wearing a red bikini top and patterned bottoms.
The longtime friends appeared to make the most of their time together during the vacation.

Shields and Handler have known each other for years and have previously appeared on each other’s podcasts, where they have discussed their lives and relationships.
The trip also included sightseeing away from the water. Shields shared a photo of herself and Handler walking through a busy Croatian street.
Shields wore a bright yellow dress with a wide-brimmed straw hat, layered necklaces and a brown belt. Handler wore a white button-down shirt, patterned skirt, navy baseball cap and dark sunglasses.
Shields also showed off the more adventurous side of the trip in a video included in the Instagram carousel. In the clip, she jumped from the edge of a waterfall into the water below while wearing her black one-piece swimsuit.
Fans responded to the vacation photos with compliments about Shields and the Croatian scenery.
“Croatia is beautiful ,” one person wrote.
“Brooke Shields The most beautiful in the world ,” another commenter wrote.
“What a fun trip! ❤️,” another fan added.
One commenter joked about Shields’ waterfall excursion, writing, “So that’s the fountain of youth you’ve been using!”
The vacation comes after Shields spoke in July 2026 with Oprah Winfrey about growing up in the public eye and the work she has done to maintain a sense of normalcy.
During the conversation for Oprah Daily, Shields discussed beginning her modeling career as a baby and the challenges that came with spending most of her life in the entertainment industry.

“You either become a victim to it, and you resent it, and then you get angry, and you get bitter,” Shields said, “or you say, ‘OK, how can I not be devoured by this? How can I surround myself with people who are grounded?’”
Shields said staying grounded became particularly important after she became a mother to daughters Rowan and Grier with her husband, Chris Henchy.
“How can I stay as grounded as possible to be the kind of mom for my daughters that it would very easily be derailed in this industry?” she told Winfrey.
Shields also discussed her complicated relationship with her late mother, Teri, who raised her as a single mother and managed her career while she was growing up. Shields said the two became deeply intertwined, leaving little room for her to establish an independent identity.
“There was so much love, but then you couple that with the industry that we were in,” Shields said. “She protected me fiercely.”
The actress said years of therapy and personal work have helped her separate her own voice from the influence of her mother and longtime manager.
“Luckily, I hear — I’ve worked so hard on myself — to hear my own voice in my head first,” Shields said. “And that’s years of working on it and therapy and thinking about it and making myself sort of freer from this.”
For now, Shields’ Croatia getaway offered a chance to step away from the spotlight and spend time with friends while taking in the country’s waterfalls, coastline and streets.
