Several female York College of Pennsylvania students were dragged, punched, kicked, maced, and beaten unconscious after a mob invaded their off-campus rental property during an apparent illegal street takeover, according to The New York Post.

The students were sitting on their front porch Saturday morning when the violence erupted.

Videos obtained by Fox 43 and WGAL showed dozens of suspects attacking one student on the ground while another group pummeled a second woman outside the home.

“After the first punch was given, all these girls started to rush us, and that’s where it kind of gets blurry because I think people were coming at me… I turn and see my friend get dragged by her hair down our porch steps and disappear. My other friend got dragged by her hair,” one student told Fox 43.

The assault occurred just north of the college campus on the 300 block of W Jackson Street in York, Pennsylvania.

Hundreds of people had gathered in the area for an illegal street race before commotion pulled the crowd toward the students’ property.

The students said the confrontation began shortly before 1:50 a.m. after a suspect verbally accosted the group. The students had told members of the crowd to get off their property.

“One of the cars street racing smashed into a parked car by the firehouse, which is right next to the house. When this happened, all of the townies migrated over towards the house and on the grass. We all asked them to move off the property, and that’s when everything erupted,” one victim said.

Another victim recalled being caught off guard while looking toward a friend wearing a knee brace. She said an attacker pulled her from the porch by her hair and dragged her to a nearby stop sign.

“From then, I was dragged to the stop sign, and that’s when everyone jumped me. I was getting kicked by probably 12 people at the same time,” she told Fox 43.

The student said she was trying to hold up her tube top with one arm while attackers struck her in the face.

She believed she blacked out at least twice, including once after being kicked in the ribs and again after being hit in the head.

“I don’t exactly remember how I got out of it, but I was encircled by probably 30 people by myself getting video recorded while getting punched and kicked from every angle,” she said.

Another student described watching the crowd descend upon the women as they stood on the porch. She also recalled someone spraying mace across the property during the mayhem.

The students said they called police several times and were told officers were on their way before the attack began.

At that time, York Police officers were handling a SWAT situation involving a barricaded individual following reports of gunshots.

“At approximately 1:49 am, York City Police were dispatched to the 300 block of W. Jackson St. for a fight involving a large gathering of individuals,” the department said Wednesday.

Police said a sergeant requested mutual aid from surrounding agencies while some York City officers responded.

Police said officers arrived at 1:52 a.m. and the large crowd quickly scattered. An officer later met with the victims and collected additional evidence, but no arrests from the attack had been announced.

Authorities launched an investigation into the assault.

The women sustained bruises, and the father of one victim condemned the police response as inadequate for students and other residents on Jackson Street.

“It’s not just the girls who got assaulted; it is everybody on Jackson Street. We’re not talking about five girls and possibly their roommates; we’re talking about hundreds of students, so their response is completely ridiculous,” the father told Fox 43.

York College confirmed that the incident occurred off campus and involved college students and people unaffiliated with the institution.

College officials said individuals not connected to the school initiated the physical confrontation after a student asked them to leave the property.

“York College leadership has been, and continues to be, in active discussions with York City leadership and local law enforcement regarding community safety in the neighborhoods surrounding the campus,” the college said.
