  • A woman repeatedly interrupted Donalds with profanity and demanded that he use female language for the attendee.

  • The attendee cursed at Donalds and walked away after the dispute shifted from the Epstein files to pronouns.

A campaign event featuring Florida GOP gubernatorial nominee Byron Donalds erupted into a profanity filled spectacle Friday after Donalds addressed a transgender attendee as “sir.” The exchange began with a question about Donalds and his handling of the Epstein files.

Mediaite reported that the attendee confronted Donalds during the event and sought to criticize him over the issue. Donalds began responding directly, but his choice of address quickly shifted the encounter away from the original question.

“Sir, as a member of Congress,” Donalds started to say. Before he could move much further into his response, the word “sir” drew an angry reaction from a woman standing in the background.

Donalds then began explaining that he had voted to release the Epstein files. That explanation did not cool the room, as the woman interrupted and started shouting over his response.

“Are you f**king kidding me!” the woman screamed. She followed that eruption with another question aimed at Donalds: “Are you f**king keep calling her, sir?!”

The exchange had now moved from a disagreement over the Epstein files to a heated argument over how Donalds addressed the attendee. Donalds did not respond with the same volume or fury coming from the background.

Instead, Donalds said he was “listening to the voice in his ears,” referring to how he was identifying the attendee. That answer only produced another profane blast from the woman.

“What the f**k is wrong with you!” she screamed. The repeated interruptions continued as Donalds attempted to engage with the person who had originally approached him.

The transgender attendee then joined the dispute over Donalds’ words, scolding him for “not seeing the rest of me.” The woman in the background immediately resumed shouting, ensuring the campaign exchange remained focused on pronouns rather than the initial subject.

“So, now here’s a woman there,” she yelled. She then aimed another insult at Donalds, shouting, “What the f**k is wrong with you, you piece of s**t?!”

Through the outburst, Donalds remained calm and continued addressing the attendee with male pronouns. He did not allow the shouting woman’s repeated demands or insults to force a change in how he responded.

The attendee eventually appeared to have had enough of the exchange. “Sir again. We’re okay, ma’am,” the person yelled before telling Donalds to “f**k off” and walking away from the encounter.

Even after the attendee began leaving, the woman in the background had one more accusation ready for Donalds. “That’s enough,” she told him, followed by, “You belittled her enough.”

The confrontation offered a sharp contrast in demeanor. Donalds continued speaking calmly while his critics repeatedly interrupted, screamed profanities, and ultimately walked away after failing to make him adopt their preferred language.

The original question about Donalds’ handling of the Epstein files received less attention once the argument over “sir” took over. Donalds had started explaining his vote to release the files, but the woman’s fury redirected the entire exchange.

Donalds is the current frontrunner to become Florida’s next governor and said he was leading in the polls. It also noted that early voting was underway in Florida as the campaign event confrontation circulated.

With Donalds maintaining his approach and the attendee departing, the clash ended without any retreat from the candidate. The loudest participants were the ones demanding different language, while Donalds remained undeterred by the profanity and personal insults.
