Steven Eugene Kuhn is warning that Europe’s fiscal and political problems should serve as a cautionary example for Americans, arguing that high taxes, heavy government spending, and declining local engagement can leave citizens paying more while receiving less in return.
Kuhn opened by describing what he sees as a growing crisis across Europe, where taxpayers are facing higher costs while public services and basic needs are being neglected.
"Tell you what, Europe's on fire, and every citizen in Europe is paying for it. They're paying more tax, and they get less schooling. They pay more rent, and they get less housing. Right? They're paying more for heat and more for food, and they're told to shut up."
He argued that the central question is where government revenue is going, particularly given Europe’s comparatively high tax burdens.

"This has happened all across Europe as we speak, and it's important to mention that Europe has some of the highest taxes in the world. So where does all that money go? Think about it."
Kuhn pointed to military spending, aid to Ukraine, and continued purchases of Russian energy as examples of what he considers contradictory priorities.
"Well, the EU's so-called leaders, the puppets of the city of London, gave 90 billion euros to Ukraine. European NATO countries are spending almost 640 billion dollars on defense this year alone. Crazy."
He continued by arguing that European countries are simultaneously spending heavily on Russian gas.

"And while they do that, they're still buying Russian gas, as you know. Almost 8 billion euros in the past nine months alone. France, Belgium, Spain, and the Netherlands paid Russia 34 billion for gas since the war started in 22, and they gave Ukraine only 21 billion in total."
Kuhn said the result is a system in which ordinary citizens bear the costs of what he considers poor government decision-making.
"So they gave more to their enemy than they did to their ally. Think about that, and they speak about morals and doing the right thing. Come on, so the citizens are being sacrificed for their leaders' incompetence, and they're paying for both sides of the war, and get tear-gassed when they protest against it."
He also cited examples of government spending that he considers wasteful.
"And it's not just weapons either. I mean, Germany paid 100,000 euros to plant five trees. They build a public toilet for 355,000 euros, and the European Parliament packs up and moves to another country 12 times a year."
Kuhn said the cost of that arrangement extends far beyond the move itself.
"That's over 100 million euros a year for a building that sits empty 317 days out of 365, and that's for a parliament, by the way, that has no lawmaking or veto power, which costs over 2 billion in salaries and benefits on top."
He contrasted those expenditures with domestic needs involving education, health care, housing and retirement.
"So there's no money for teachers, no money for nurses, no money for a grandmother's rent, no money for their pension you paid into your whole life. Not to mention affordable housing, unless of course you're an illegal immigrant, it's different."
Kuhn warned that he believes Europe may be approaching a severe reckoning.
"But they could find 640 billion for weapons within a week. In the end, it might be too late for Europe. The crash is coming, unfortunately. And Lord, I hope I'm wrong."
He then shifted his focus to the United States, arguing that America still has time to avoid a similar trajectory.

"Consider it all a warning: what will happen in America if we don't act now? But it's not too late for us because we got something that they don't."
Kuhn said the opportunity lies in local government, where he claimed more than 100,000 seats are currently vacant.
"More than 100,000 local government seats in America are sitting vacant right now. Out of 500,000 local government seats, 68% have only one name on the ballot. One name."
He argued that those numbers demonstrate how little participation is required to begin changing local political institutions.
"All you need to do is show up, and you have a 50% chance of winning."
For Kuhn, the deeper problem is not simply national politics but Americans withdrawing from their own towns and communities.
"So the real issue in America is actually our lack of engagement in local government. We got raised to believe the government works for us and takes care of us, so we went home and quit fighting for our own towns. Does it look like it's working? I don't think so. Obviously not."
Kuhn warned that organized political activists have recognized the opportunity created by empty seats and low civic participation.
"And of course, somebody noticed those empty seats, and the activists did, and they're taking them right now with a vengeance."
He argued that organized movements succeed because they have clearly defined objectives and individual roles.
"You know why they win? They got a mission. The socialists know exactly what they want, and every one of their people has a job that points towards that goal. The Islamist nonprofits, same thing. Clear goal, clear roles, and they show up every single time."
Kuhn said Americans who want a free and sovereign country need more than broad ideals.
"What's our goal? Sure, we want America free and sovereign. Who doesn't? And we want the republic tied to faith, great, but that's a wish list. What's the hard, tangible goal? Go ahead and name it. I know you can't because we don't have one."
His answer is an initiative called Tab, which aims to place 10 certified citizen servant leaders in every American county and build an organized local network focused on restoring local sovereignty.
Kuhn closed by warning that without a specific organizing objective, Americans risk surrendering political ground to groups that are already organized.
"And until we unite behind a real, tangible goal, we risk losing our republic. And we already know that a party plan isn't a goal."
