Blake Lively brought classic glamour to New York City on Tuesday night, stepping out in a sparkling little black dress for a rare public appearance. The 39-year-old Gossip Girl star was photographed smiling brightly as she arrived at an event in Manhattan, as reported by The Daily Mail.
The gathering celebrated the launch of jeweler Brent Neale's new holiday collection, according to E! News. Lively was reportedly accompanied by friends, though her husband, 50-year-old Ryan Reynolds, did not appear alongside her.
The Daily Mail contacted Lively's representative for comment but had not received a response. For the evening, the actress embraced a dramatic look built around a skimpy black minidress covered in glittering sequins.

The dress sat below her shoulders and featured a playful black bow across the front. Its short skirt showed off her toned legs as she posed for photographers outside the event.

Lively paired the dress with clear Louboutins that wrapped around her ankles and had black tips at the toes. She carried a simple black leather hobo handbag that kept the focus on the shimmering dress.
Her long blond hair was styled in sweeping waves that fell over her shoulders. Dangling earrings and several enormous sparkling rings supplied even more shine as she beamed for the cameras outside the gathering.
The appearance followed Lively's recent look at the elaborate beauty routine she uses in hopes of appearing as though she is in the “first trimester of life.” She shared a candid clip of her nighttime regimen through her Instagram Story last week.
In the post, Lively appeared to wear red light therapy headgear over her hair. A sheet mask covered her bare face, with additional pieces placed across her skin, while a brown fleece hoodie completed the cozy nighttime scene.

“Natural beauty is effortless,” she quipped at the bottom of the post. The actress was pictured taking a deep breath as the mask remained spread across her face.
Lively also added thought bubbles around her head to narrate the effort behind the routine. In one, she wrote: “If I don't look like I'm in the first trimester of life after this much effort, I quit.”
She followed with a nostalgic joke about simpler skin care habits, writing: “I miss the 2000s when we just used that hand soap with fish characters on it on our face & called it a day.”
Another thought bubble called attention to the lights visible in the room. “My kids' star projector that I stole is a vibe tho,” Lively wrote, setting the candid post to Fergie and Ludacris' 2006 hit Glamorous.

Lively shares four children with Reynolds: James, 11, Inez, ten, Betty, seven, and Olin, three. She frequently posts glimpses of her hair and beauty routines on social media while balancing her life as a mother and businesswoman.
In August, she posted a bathroom video showing herself getting ready before rushing out the door. The footage included products from her Blake Brown haircare brand as she described the challenge of getting prepared while caring for her children.
“The look: no time but need to look cute while ALSO raising children,” she wrote over the clip. She later added, “Moment of truth: bun out after running around the city,” before nearly leaving with her pants unbuttoned.
Her latest outing also arrived after the legal dispute involving It Ends with Us director and costar Justin Baldoni. Lively sued Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer, in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation, including an alleged smear campaign after she raised complaints about his conduct on set.

Baldoni denied harassment and claimed Lively made complaints to gain creative control of the film. His countersuit was thrown out in June 2025, and the former costars reached a settlement in May of this year, two weeks before their scheduled trial.
Lively was awarded just over $400,000 of the $8 million she sought in legal fees connected to the dispute, and Baldoni was ultimately ordered to pay $400,000. In a joint statement, they wrote that they “remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments.”
