Dean Norris and his wife, Bridget Norris, are navigating a private marital split while confronting serious financial trouble tied to their California restaurant. Court documents obtained by Page Six revealed that Bridget quietly filed for divorce from the “Breaking Bad” actor on Feb. 14, 2025.

Dean responded to the divorce filing in May 2025. The proceedings do not appear to have been finalized, leaving the couple’s marital status unresolved as details of their financial difficulties become public.

The separation surfaced alongside a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing involving Swing Inn Cafe, the restaurant the couple owns in Temecula, California. According to documents obtained by Page Six, the business filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 25.

The financial figures show a dramatic gap between what the company owns and what it owes. Swing Inn Cafe reported $147,809.58 in assets while listing $1,811,598.46 in liabilities, according to the bankruptcy documents.

Chapter 11 bankruptcy allows a company to restructure its debts in an effort to remain in business. The filing therefore concerns the restaurant and its obligations as the couple continues operating the longstanding establishment.

Dean and Bridget purchased Swing Inn Cafe in 2002. The old-school diner and barbecue restaurant has operated since 1927, giving the business a history stretching back decades before the couple acquired it.

Despite the bankruptcy filing, the restaurant has not mentioned the proceedings on its social media accounts. Its public posts have instead continued promoting the business, its food and Dean’s appearances at the location.

On Monday, the Swing Inn Cafe Instagram account posted footage of Dean being interviewed by a local news outlet about the restaurant. The account also encouraged followers to preorder their Thanksgiving meals from the cafe.

The restaurant’s page separately shared video of Dean meeting fans at the establishment over the weekend. Those posts presented business activity continuing at the cafe without addressing the Chapter 11 case or its reported liabilities.

Dean, 63, is best known for portraying Hank Schrader on AMC’s “Breaking Bad.” He appeared on the acclaimed series from 2008 until 2013, and his connection to the show remains central to his public profile.

Dean married Bridget, a former entertainment lawyer, in October 2021. The couple share five children, including two minor children, their 17-year-old daughter, Zoe, and their 16-year-old son, Dean Jr.

Bridget is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s children, TMZ reported Wednesday. She is also asking for spousal support as part of the divorce proceedings.

According to TMZ, Bridget cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for ending the marriage. The outlet reported that she listed Jan. 15, 2025, as the couple’s date of separation, one month before her divorce filing.

Page Six contacted Dean’s representative for comment regarding the divorce and related developments. The publication did not immediately receive a response from his representative.

Swing Inn Cafe is not the only venture Dean and Bridget have operated together. In 2018, they opened the Norris Performing Arts Center in Murrieta, California, expanding their shared business interests beyond the restaurant.

The performing arts center provides dance, vocal, acting, and musical theater training. Its programs serve students ranging in age from 3 to 18, according to the information provided about the couple’s additional joint venture.
