Lara Logan is warning that Democrats and allied organizations are preparing a coordinated political, legal and media campaign surrounding the midterm elections, arguing that the effort is designed to restrict President Donald Trump’s response to reports of election irregularities while portraying his use of presidential authority as improper.
Logan said the most significant development she has observed is what she described as a Democratic strategy to prevent Trump from examining allegations involving voter fraud, election fraud, or suspicious activity at polling places.
"Okay, if you're trying to make sense of what is going on around you in the midterms, here's the most striking thing that I have observed: the Democrats have laid out a plan that is really quite extraordinary," Logan said.
She argued that the strategy involves discouraging Trump from responding to reports involving voting machines, power disruptions or allegations of noncitizens casting ballots.

"It involves tying the president's hands so that he's not allowed to look at any form of election fraud or voter fraud or any reports of suspicious activity; they want to tell you that if he, if Trump so much as looks at any of these reports, like voting machines going down, the power being cut, people who are not citizens voting, that he's somehow an autocrat, right?" Logan said.
She further claimed that Democrats and their media allies would characterize even lawful exercises of presidential power as threatening.
"And if he uses any of the legal constitutional authority that is granted to him by virtue of his office, where he was voted legally with the overwhelming will of the American people behind him. They want you to believe that that is somehow nefarious," she said.
Logan identified the media as one arena where she believes that narrative is being established, specifically naming CNN.

"So where are they fighting this? Well, they're fighting it in the media. They're fighting it with people like CNN who are saying, "Oh, you know, oh my goodness! There's plans right for Trump to do terrible things if he doesn't get the results he wants, and of course, what they're doing by saying that is projecting. They're projecting their actions onto their adversary."
She compared the current situation to previous controversies surrounding Trump, including the Russia investigation and his first impeachment over Ukraine.
"We saw them do that with the Ukraine impeachment. Saw them do that with Russia collusion, where they were colluding with foreign spies and foreign governments to steal an American election, and they accuse Trump of doing that? So we've seen this tactic before, and people recognize it," Logan said.
Logan also alleged that activists and nongovernmental organizations are preparing demonstrations and other forms of political pressure surrounding the elections.
"What they're also talking about there's dog whistles going out all across social media, calling on these Marxist affinity groups to go onto the streets. They're already organizing that. There's been leaked phone calls where NGOs are planning on how to take the government," she said.
She claimed some organizations have been preparing since Trump won the election and alleged that their planning could extend as far as an attempt to seize political power.
"There's organizations that have been, you know, planning on this since the very first, since Trump won the election, right? That have been figuring out exactly how they can take back power, even in a coup. It sounds incredible. I can't believe I'm actually saying it, but yes, even in a coup," Logan said.
Logan characterized the alleged planning as an actual insurrection, contrasting it with January 6.
"This is what a real insurrection would look like, right? Not January Six, not a bunch of people showing up to fight for, you know, election integrity and safe and secure elections, who are set up right by agitators in the crowd," she said.
She described what she believes would constitute such an effort as a combination of legal challenges, pressure on the Supreme Court, street violence, political organization and information operations.
"No, this is a real insurrection where there is a legal arm in the courts. There is pressure on the Supreme Court justices. There is violence on the streets. There is a shadow cabinet ready to take over. Shadow cabinet in waiting. There is an information warfare strategy. There is a battle plan. I mean, this is vast, and it is not to be underestimated."
Logan also cautioned her audience against assuming that nobody is monitoring the activity she described.
"But it is also not to be underestimated that you know you shouldn't think that no one is aware, no one is tracking, no one's doing anything about it. Doesn't mean sit back and you know and wait to be saved. It means stand up and speak up, but have a little faith as well that you're not the only one observing what's going on," she said.
She concluded by arguing that Democrats have revealed their strategy because they are operating from a position of desperation, while suggesting their opponents are proceeding more deliberately.
"Oh, and by the way, if you knew the battle plan for the other side, it wouldn't be a very good plan because the only reason you know the Democrat plan is that they're desperate. This smacks of desperation, and the other side is not desperate. They're thoughtful. They're moving carefully, and they're not giving anything away."
