President Donald Trump criticized Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Monday night over her performance at the Munich Security Conference, saying it reflected poorly on the United States, as reported by Breitbart.

The remarks came during a press gaggle aboard Air Force One as President Trump traveled from West Palm Beach to Mar-a-Lago following Presidents’ Day Weekend.

In addition to Ocasio-Cortez, the president also addressed comments made at the conference by California Gov. Gavin Newsom and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“By the way, I watched AOC answering questions in Munich. This was not a good look for the United States. I watched Gavin Newscum answering questions… in Munich, and this was a bad look for our country,” Trump said.

He continued, “These two people are incompetent, and at least Hillary’s competent. She’s just Trump deranged. She was so deranged. She is an angry woman, but I watched the other two speaking and answering basic questions.”

President Trump said Newsom has overseen the destruction of California and claimed Ocasio-Cortez struggled to respond to questions during the international conference.

“I never heard her speak very much, and they started answering questions; she had no idea what was happening. She had no idea how to answer, you know, very important questions concerning the world,” Trump said.

“But she can’t answer questions concerning New York City either, because New York City has got some problems,” he added.

During one exchange at the conference, Ocasio-Cortez delivered what critics described as a “word salad” response while addressing questions about longstanding U.S. policy.

“AOC might be even worse than Kamala Harris when it comes to the word salads,” Greg Price, communications director for the State Freedom Caucus, wrote in a post on X.

At another point during the Munich event, Ocasio-Cortez was asked whether she would impose a wealth tax if she became president. She responded:

“I don’t think that–I, I don’t think that anyone and that we don’t have to wait for any one president to impose a wealth tax. I think that it needs to be done expeditiously,” she said.

The Munich Security Conference regularly draws international leaders and policymakers to discuss global security, defense cooperation, and geopolitical challenges.

The exchanges involving American political figures this year quickly circulated online, drawing attention from both supporters and critics.

President Trump’s comments marked the latest in a series of public exchanges between the president and Democratic leaders following high-profile international appearances.
