Federal investigators have obtained election data from Maricopa County, Arizona, as part of an ongoing federal investigation into the administration of the 2024 election, according to journalist John Solomon.

The probe began after a federal grand jury issued a subpoena seeking large volumes of election-related data from the county.

Investigators are reviewing the information as part of a broader effort examining whether state election laws were followed during the election.

Solomon said the subpoena focuses on data tied specifically to the 2024 election cycle.

“The focus in this grand jury subpoena that went in the last few days to Maricopa County, sees the many gigabytes of election data, is the 2024 election, which is interesting, because President Trump won there,” Solomon said.

The investigation stems in part from observations made by congressional election monitors assigned to voting centers as part of the House Administration Committee’s oversight responsibilities. Each year, the committee sends bipartisan observer teams to monitor election procedures at various locations across the country.

According to Solomon, one of those observer teams reported concerning findings after visiting Maricopa County.

“But there is a discovery that was made by congressional observers every year the House Administration Committee sends observers, one Democrat, one Republican, to various voting centers,” Solomon said.

Solomon said the bipartisan observer team documented the issue and prepared a report detailing what they observed during their visit.

“One of the teams, the Republican, Democrat team that went to Maricopa County, observed something very disturbing,” Solomon said.

“They took pictures. They wrote a long report.”

The report was later referenced by Rep. Abe Hamadeh in an oversight letter related to election administration concerns in Arizona.

“Congressman Abe Hamadeh hinted at this in an oversight letter recently,” Solomon said.

According to Solomon, the contents of the observers’ report were significant enough to draw the attention of federal investigators.

“The information in that report was so troubling to the FBI,” Solomon said.

He said the report’s findings were also reviewed alongside concerns raised previously by Arizona officials and candidates following earlier elections.

“When coupled to the things that the Arizona Senate found in 2020 that were raised as concerns, and the things that Hamada and Kari Lake raised in 2022 they were able to get a grand jury subpoena from a federal grand jury,” Solomon said.

Following the subpoena, investigators obtained a large volume of voter-related data from Maricopa County.

“And execute the transmission of a large amount of voter data,” Solomon said.

According to Solomon, federal investigators are now analyzing the records to determine whether the data reflects irregularities or violations referenced in the congressional report.

“They're going to go through that data, looking for some of the telltale signs that were in this congressional report,” Solomon said.

Solomon also said the report produced by congressional observers could soon become public.

“I hope, in the next couple of days, to make that congressional report public so everybody can see what it was that observers on Bryan Steil's House Administration Committee saw,” Solomon said.

Rep. Bryan Steil, who chairs the House Administration Committee, has acknowledged that Congress has been coordinating with federal investigators regarding the Arizona matter.

“Bryan Steil himself acknowledged that they were working with federal authorities on this specific Arizona matter,” Solomon said.

The investigation is part of a broader federal effort examining election administration practices in various parts of the country.

“So you got Congress working with the FBI,” Solomon said.

“And I think this is phase two of about a five phase, look at states, particularly blue states, or blue areas of states, where elections are not administered the way the law says they're supposed to be.”

Solomon said investigators are reviewing whether election officials complied with state election laws and treated voters consistently under those laws.

“And as a result, the FBI may come in and prosecute people because it is a federal felony if you don't follow your state's laws, if you don't treat everybody the same under your state law,” Solomon said.

Federal investigators continue to review the election data obtained from Maricopa County as part of the ongoing probe.

“So that's where we're at today,” Solomon said.
