A California man has been sentenced to more than six years in prison after stalking a woman for months and later breaking into her home, where he assaulted her while she slept, according to prosecutors, as reported by The New York Post.
Christian Solorio, 28, was sentenced to six years and eight months in state prison after pleading no contest to felony stalking and assault with intent to commit a sex offense during a burglary.
The case was handled by the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors said Solorio first encountered the victim at her workplace in February 2025 and quickly became fixated on her.

“Solorio first saw the victim at her work and immediately became obsessed with her,” the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office said.
According to officials, Solorio began repeatedly showing up at the victim’s workplace and loitering outside to try to interact with her.
“Solorio would show up at her work multiple times a day and loiter outside of her work to contact her when she left. Solorio asked the victim out several times and sent her a letter where he stated he wanted to take her to Mexico,” the statement continued.
“This harassment went on for several weeks.”

Authorities said the situation escalated in May 2025 when Solorio went to the victim’s home. Prosecutors stated that he waited until her father left the residence before entering the home without permission.
Once inside, Solorio entered the woman’s bedroom while she was asleep and carried out the assault, according to reports cited by The Modesto Bee.
The woman woke up during the incident and spoke with Solorio while waiting for help to arrive. Family members came to assist her, and emergency services were contacted.
Law enforcement later took Solorio into custody following the incident.
Deputy District Attorney Vita Palazuelos praised the victim for coming forward and cooperating with authorities.
“I’m glad the victim came forward, and the Sheriff’s Office did a really good job tracking him down and getting him into custody,” Palazuelos said, according to The Modesto Bee.
“Unfortunately, the maximum sentence for this charge is only six years.”
Palazuelos also stated that the victim had taken steps to avoid Solorio prior to the break-in, but the harassment continued until the incident occurred.
In addition to the state charges, Solorio is also facing federal charges related to drug trafficking activities, according to prosecutors.
The case highlights the progression of stalking behavior that escalated into a residential break-in and assault. Authorities have not released additional details about the federal case or further proceedings.
