A federal judge handpicked by former President Barack Obama is now at the center of an embarrassing judicial scandal.

A bombshell report reveals that Judge Eleanor Ross of the Northern District of Georgia was privately reprimanded for loud and inappropriate sexual behavior inside her own chambers, reportedly during business hours, and within earshot of her staff.

The judicial conduct report outlined that Ross carried on a two year affair with a police department commander, a relationship that investigators said created a serious conflict of interest and made her staff feel deeply uncomfortable.

The news is sending shockwaves through the legal community, but especially among conservatives who have grown accustomed to seeing double standards when it comes to justice and accountability for Obama era elites.

According to the report, which was issued on May 22, the conduct in question occurred between 2023 and 2025 and included intimate activity inside her chambers during work hours.

The findings described the judge's behavior as showing “a gross lack of judgment.”

Even more disturbing, staff members reportedly could hear the suggestive noises coming from behind closed doors. There is hardly a more brazen example of workplace misconduct at the judicial level.

While the official report refrained from naming Ross, the anonymity did not last long. Reality TV personality Todd Chrisley, who had faced Ross in court during his criminal trial, posted her name on social media after the news broke.

Chrisley accused the judge of being “corrupt” and too distracted by her affairs to focus on his case.

“She needs to be impeached and we will work with Congress and our legal team to see that this happens,” Chrisley wrote on Instagram.

Chrisley’s claim comes with more than a little irony.

He was convicted on multiple federal charges including bank fraud, tax evasion, and wire fraud in 2022, all under Ross’s watch.

Though she sentenced him to twelve years in prison, President Donald Trump later granted him a pardon.

Now, Chrisley appears to be taking a victory lap with the latest revelations about the Obama judge’s misconduct.

The disciplinary panel did not stop with her personal misconduct.

The report also found that Ross attended a partisan political event hosted by a district attorney’s campaign, a violation of ethical rules designed to keep federal judges out of overt political activities.

More troubling still, the panel alleged Ross misled other judges who were investigating her conduct.

That combination of dishonesty and partisanship only deepens the concern over her suitability for her position.

Ross has long been part of the left leaning legal establishment in Georgia.

Before becoming a federal judge, she served as a state court judge, a federal prosecutor, and even worked in the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.

Her ties to the Democratic political ecosystem run deep, which may explain the degree of leniency displayed by the judicial panel.

Instead of seeking removal, the committee limited its punishment to a private reprimand, the bureaucratic equivalent of a slap on the wrist.

To many Americans, this story reinforces a familiar picture of how Obama era appointees operate.

Whether it is politics, the FBI, the Department of Justice, or now the federal courts, those connected to the previous administration seem perpetually insulated from real consequences.

The liberal media may try to downplay this story, but for those who believe in equal justice, it is hard not to see the hypocrisy.

It is especially telling that a sitting federal judge could participate in such conduct without immediate removal or suspension.

Any private sector employee caught in similar circumstances would be out the door instantly.

Yet within the rarefied world of federal judges, accountability often becomes optional.

Conservatives are calling for transparency, demanding that the full report be made public and that Congress examine the details behind the reprimand.

Judicial ethics are supposed to maintain trust in the court system.

When the person upholding the law engages in the very type of misconduct she would punish in others, public trust evaporates.

Ross’s actions not only embarrassed her office but raised deep concerns about her past rulings, especially cases involving law enforcement or political entities that may have overlapped with her personal relationships.

Decency in public office should not be a partisan issue, yet the silence from Democrat circles is deafening.

If a Trump appointed judge had been caught doing anything close to what Ross is accused of, the demands for impeachment and disbarment would be blaring across every major network.

Instead, the outrage is barely a murmur from the left, proving once again that so called “progressive” justice only works in one direction.

Judge Eleanor Ross might remain on the bench for now, but the public has already rendered its verdict.

Voters will remember that another Obama appointee treated public office as a private playground.

The justice system deserves better, and Americans know it.
