Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO’s high-profile marriage has come to an end, and a new report claims the reason behind their split comes down to a clash between faith and image.
Sources allege that the country singer’s deepening Christian beliefs began to conflict with his wife’s outspoken and provocative persona, as reported by Page Six.
According to the Daily Mail, the tension between their personal brands became impossible to ignore.
“There is just such a conflict in what’s going on. He’s preaching this Christian way of life. She’s posing mostly naked and talking about porn and penises on her podcast,” an insider said, referring to Bunnie’s show “Dumb Blonde.”

The same source described how Bunnie’s public image reportedly “embarrassed” the musician and interfered with efforts to shape his reputation.
“At every turn, she’s just kind of embarrassing him and wrecking every PR narrative that they’re trying to create. This is the talk of the town [in Nashville],” the insider added.
Jelly Roll, who is 41, has openly discussed his faith in recent months. When he accepted the Grammy for Best Contemporary Country Album in February, he broke down in tears as he thanked both Jesus and Bunnie for saving his life.

“First of all, Jesus, I hear you, and I’m listening, Lord. I am listening, Lord,” he began, before continuing, “Second of all, I want to thank my beautiful wife. I would have never changed my life without you. I would have ended up dead or in jail. I would have killed myself if it wasn’t for you and Jesus. I thank you for that.”
Despite that public gratitude, not everyone is convinced about the depth of the singer’s religious transformation.
One source claimed his focus on Christianity might have been more strategic than spiritual, suggesting that his faith-forward rebrand was an attempt to tap into a profitable market.
“He saw a lot of money in this market and told Bunnie to get it together. But she wouldn’t stay in line, and it is destroying his brand,” the insider alleged.
They continued, “She just wants to be what she is. She’s been an escort and in porn and gets her validation and audience from being in a G-string. That’s been her life, but now, suddenly, he’s a preacher, and she’s a preacher’s wife.”
Representatives for Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Page Six.
Legal filings show that Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, filed for divorce on May 18 in Williamson County, Tennessee. The documents cite “irreconcilable differences” as the official reason for the breakup.
The couple’s relationship timeline stretches back nearly a decade. They reportedly met in 2015 at one of Jelly Roll’s concerts and tied the knot a year later in August 2016 at a Las Vegas courthouse, marrying the same night he proposed.
In 2023, they renewed their vows.
Observers recently spotted moving trucks outside the estranged couple’s shared Tennessee home, though it remains unclear whose belongings were being taken from the property.
The timing of the separation caught fans off guard, especially since Bunnie had spoken earlier this year about trying to have a baby with Jelly Roll through in vitro fertilization.
That hopeful update now stands in stark contrast to the couple’s current reality.

Their divorce quickly ignited public conversation, not just because of the abrupt end to a seemingly strong marriage but because of the noticeable differences in image that have now come under scrutiny.
One partner was leaning into a faith-based narrative, while the other continued to build an unapologetically bold platform.
As of now, neither Jelly Roll nor Bunnie has made a public statement addressing the reported reasons for their split. What remains clear is that a once-unbreakable bond, built on both love and reinvention, has faced an irreconcilable divide.
