A migrant caravan moving north through southern Mexico has become the latest flashpoint in actor James Woods’ political commentary. The outspoken Hollywood figure aimed a blunt warning at voters considering Democratic candidates before the 2026 midterm elections.
EFE reported that more than 600 migrants from Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Ecuador and Haiti were traveling through Chiapas. The group, called “Fe y Esperanza,” initially arrived with roughly 300 people, and members have said they hope to reach the United States.
Woods shared a video on X that showed migrants crossing water as they continued their journey north. Breitbart reported that the actor accompanied the footage with a warning for voters ahead of the November elections.
“Think before you vote this November,” Woods wrote. The message tied the caravan directly to the approaching midterms and continued his repeated focus on immigration and border policy.

In a separate post, Woods delivered a more extensive attack on Democrats. He accused the party of caring only about importing illegal votes and claimed its members would use dishonesty to hold power.

“This is all Democrats care about. They have nothing to offer American citizens, so they will import illegal votes. It’s that simple. And they will continue to lie, cheat, and steal to keep it this way until America is gone,” Woods wrote.
His posts framed the caravan as an election issue and urged voters to keep border policy in mind when they cast their ballots. The actor has repeatedly made immigration a central subject in his political commentary.

Federal officials, however, expressed confidence that the group would not enter the United States. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said the caravan has “zero chance” of making it into the country.

According to reporting on Mullin’s comments, he said the administration was prepared to deploy additional federal resources if necessary. A Homeland Security post also described the border under President Donald Trump and Secretary Mullin as the most secure in American history.
The post claimed that zero illegal aliens had been released into the United States for 16 consecutive months. It presented Mullin’s declaration as evidence that the caravan would be unable to enter the country.
EFE found that members of the caravan departed Honduras around September 20 before moving north through Guatemala and into Mexico. Earlier estimates placed the group’s size between 200 and 400 people, but the caravan grew as more migrants joined along the route.

Honduran migrant José Zelaya told EFE that he was traveling with seven family members. He said he hoped to reach the United States and earn money for relatives back home.
Woods’ political presence represents a distinct side of his public career for audiences who primarily remember him from films including Casino, Salvador and Ghosts of Mississippi. He has become an outspoken supporter of Trump, although his political criticism has not been limited to Democrats.
In March 2026, Woods announced that he was leaving the Republican Party and registering as an independent. The Independent reported that he criticized Republican congressional leaders while continuing to describe Trump in highly favorable terms.

More recently, Woods targeted fellow actor George Clooney after Clooney defended free speech during a discussion at the Venice Film Festival. Woods responded by claiming that his own Hollywood representation had ended because of his public support for Trump.
The northbound caravan has now given Woods another opening to hammer Democrats while urging voters to focus on immigration in November. At the same time, Mullin has insisted that the group has no chance of entering the United States and said more federal resources could be deployed if needed.
