Ben Affleck has firmly rejected his teenage son Samuel’s request for a Lamborghini, years after the boy accidentally backed one of the luxury vehicles into another car. As Fox News reported, the actor discussed his son’s expensive tastes during an appearance on Kerry Washington’s podcast, “Street You Grew Up On.”
Affleck, 54, shares Samuel, 14, Violet, 20, and Fin, 17, with his former wife Jennifer Garner. While speaking with Washington, his fellow “Animals” star, Affleck said Samuel appears to have inherited his own fondness for luxury items.
“I see my son now, you know, and he's a lot like me,” Affleck said. “And it makes me realize — because my older two ones — they kind of spoiled me because they're like, 'No, we don't want this. We don't want that.' They're like, aversive.”
Samuel’s approach was considerably more direct. According to Affleck, the teenager suggested that his famous father should purchase one of the costly Italian vehicles.

“My son's like, ‘Dad, you should get a Lambo,’” Affleck recalled with a laugh. “‘What? A Lambo? Are you f---ing crazy? Am I an a--hole in a yellow Lamborghini driving around like at the club?’ He's like, 'Yeah.'”
Affleck did not leave much room for negotiation. “No. No!” he exclaimed as Washington laughed at the exchange.
Samuel already has some unforgettable history with a yellow Lamborghini. In June 2022, when he was 10, he visited 777 Exotics, a luxury car rental dealership in the Los Angeles area, with Affleck and the actor’s then fiancée, Jennifer Lopez.
Affleck allowed Samuel to sit in the driver’s seat of a bright yellow Lamborghini SUV. The boy accidentally put the vehicle into reverse and backed it into a white BMW.

Samuel was photographed jumping out to inspect the vehicles, while Affleck also checked for damage. Affleck was later seen hugging his son while speaking with Lopez, whom he married in July 2022 before the former couple finalized their divorce in January 2025.
The vehicle was a Lamborghini Urus that rented for $1,475 per day and was valued at $250,000 at the time, according to the New York Post. Representatives for Affleck and 777 Exotics told the outlet that neither vehicle was damaged.
An employee at the dealership also indicated that there were no hard feelings after the collision. “Affleck loves cars,” the employee told the New York Post. “We hope they come in again.”
The Lamborghini is not the first costly item to attract Samuel’s attention. In March 2025, he was filmed admiring a $6,000 pair of Dior x Nike Air Jordan 1 sneakers while attending a sneaker convention with his father.
After seeing the price, Affleck told him, “That's a lot of lawns you gotta mow there.” Affleck later joked to Access Hollywood that requiring Samuel to earn the sneakers quickly changed his enthusiasm.
“That's what happens when you tell a motherf---er they have to mow a lawn,” Affleck said. “All of a sudden they don't want those shoes, and he was like, ‘But I always said they were tough.’”
Affleck also described his son’s attempts to justify the purchase. “It's always some grift why I need to be … I'm like, 'Man, you do not need thousand-dollar shoes!' He's like, 'We have the money.' I'm like, 'I have the money, you're broke!'” he quipped.
The actor has said he wants his children to understand that getting what they want requires work. During an April 2025 appearance on “Today with Jenna & Friends,” he explained that simply giving children everything could do them a disservice.
“You love your kids. You want to give them everything and do everything for them, but I think you definitely do them a disservice by not connecting [if] you want something that you want, you have to work for that,” Affleck said.
Affleck has also admitted that his children are not especially impressed by his Hollywood career. On “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” he said the coolest thing he had done in their eyes was becoming a meme after photos showed him struggling with Dunkin’ drinks outside his Los Angeles home.
When Affleck asked why the viral moment was cool, his children told him, “You're relevant.” Affleck responded, “I'm relevant for being this beleaguered, depressed man,” before agreeing that the meme represented “the high mark.”
