In an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity that aired on Monday night, President Donald Trump went after former President Barack Obama as well as his fellow Democrats who are now determined to impeach the current White House occupant.

AOL reported that Trump said that Republicans could have impeached Obama “for many different things," but “they never even thought of impeaching him.”

“They could’ve impeached Obama for the IRS scandal. They could impeach him for the guns for whatever where guns went all over the place and people got killed, Fast and Furious,” Trump told Hannity. “They could’ve killed him ― they could’ve impeached him for many different things.”

Trump's Fast and Furious comment refers to the botched gunrunning investigation Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives the goal of which was to stop the flow of smuggled weapons along the U.S.-Mexico border. Obama eventually used an executive order to withhold documents related to the operation, which led to a multi-year legal battle between the House and the Justice Department. It wasn't until earlier this year that both sides reached a settlement.

Trump went on to say that while Republicans never even tried to impeach Obama, Democrats, who he described as not good politicians” with “lousy policy," had tried to impeach him “on Russia, on Mueller, all this stuff.”

“And then they come up with this crazy concept of a perfect conversation,” Trump added, referring to his July phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that caused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to initiate an impeachment inquiry.

In this same interview, Trump expressed hopes that Attorney General William Barr will look into potential ties between Hillary Clinton, Ukraine, and the infamous anti-Trump dossier compiled by British ex-spy Christopher Steele.

“You hear about Ukraine, and you’ve been hearing about it. I heard Clinton was involved,” Trump said. “I heard they got somebody who wrote the fake dossier was out of Ukraine. All of the things that happened. And, I assume that the attorney general -- I would like the attorney general to find out what’s going on. Because, you know what? We are investigating corruption.”

This came one day after Trump took to Twitter to call on Pelosi to investigate Obama's Syrian red line.

"Pelosi is now leading a delegation of 9, including Corrupt Adam Schiff, to Jordan to check out Syria," Trump tweeted on Sunday. "She should find out why Obama drew The Red Line In the Sand, & then did NOTHING, losing Syria & all respect. I did something, 58 missiles. One million died under Obama’s mistake!"
