During the live broadcast, a Fox sportscaster mistakenly announced to viewers, “Brad Pitt also among the fans here,” while the footage clearly showed Damon next to Barroso.

Realizing the blunder, the commentator quickly corrected his error, clarifying, “Oh, it’s Matt Damon. That’s Matt Damon.” He blamed the mix-up on “a lot of glare on [the] monitors,” and added an apology “to both” actors.

Several users highlighted the irony that Damon’s latest film, “Odyssey,” features him as Odysseus, while Pitt famously portrayed Achilles in the 2004 epic “Troy.”

One fan wrote, “Odysseus being mistaken for Achilles.”

Reports noted that the mix-up was not limited to one network, with social media users claiming that “Estonian commentators thought it was Brad Pitt as well.”

While Damon was amused by the confusion, neither he nor Pitt has publicly commented on the broadcast glitch.
